the best thing about fast dogs...
this morning, as i was bringing my bike up and out the door, my dog snuck by me and took herself on a wild adventure through the neighborhood. my dog kind of insane and really, really fast, so i have to be careful she doesn't get out when she's not on a leash.
but puppy was on the loose this morning. she ran about two blocks north and another few blocks west. luckily, i live in a fringe neighborhood, so there are always police chilling in their squad cars around. so i ran like a madwoman up to two female officers in their car on the way, and asked them to help me corner my fugitive dog.
another block south and a block over, we finally caught her (i should g-map pedometer the whole event). did i mention that everyone in my neighborhood is like deathly afraid of puppies? because they are. i like to think it's all dogs, not just mine, but it never fails to make me laugh (well, okay, it fails to make me laugh when they won't help me catch my dog in the morning when i'm late for work anyway) since my dog is so harmless.
anyway, the best thing about your dog running like crazy all over the streets of the neighborhood is finally grabbing her. i can only imagine it's how parents feel sometimes. total relief, anger, frustration, sheer joy and soooo much adreneline. seeing her playfully dart across streets (which aren't super busy, luckily, and usually pretty slow trafficked anyway) was just so frightening. because i love her to death, even if she is the worst puppy on the planet sometimes, which she totally is (hence the morning chase).
other than that, i have a bunch of screenprinting to work when i get home tonight, and i was hoping to burn that screen i recoated last week, perhaps while watching a movie. for some reason, my neighbor and i both somehow ended up with movies about cannibalism from netflix right now - i have delicatessen, by one of my favorite directors, and he has keep the river on your right, a documentary. just a little creepy, no? (i swear we're not that super weird all the time).

aw...poor you, I can just imagine you darting through the streets like crazy, and I think you're right, it must be how a parent feels when their kids are running all willie nillie.
xoxo
