it's "i buy handmade" photo day for self portrait thursday. i felt like a bit of a jerk starting the thread pretty early wednesday afternoon. but it's been mildly successful so far - lots of great photos of people declaring their love of not-box-stores. i took some of janie thinking about handmade, because i'm convinced she spends a lot of time considering why her hard earned money is better spent with individual artists. okay. that might be the nerdiest thing i've ever said.
so, last night i came home, and found the wall clock in my kitchen on the floor, in pieces. i have no idea how or why that could have happened. i honestly don't think janie could reach it. was there some sort of earthquake? did the clock just feel there wasn't much worth living for anymore? did a burgular sneak in, ignore my laptop sitting on the kitchen table, and decide to get me by breaking only my plain, old kitchen wall clock? so weird.
