this weekend i hit a mini-milestone in my etsy shop - i surpassed 700 sales! it's a bit unbelievable, as i feel like i just hit 600 a short while ago. thanks to everyone who's placed an order! it's fun to watch my printed things fly off the virtual shelves.
in browsing around the other day, i noticed that the ever-wonderful modish blog has a little mini-series on marketing and getting attention from shopping blogs. it's really nice to find such helpful information right out there. we publish lots of marketing tips in the storque (including in my very own little weekly column, team tips), but getting this information from a really great shopping blog editor herself is really interesting.
as the holiday shopping season draws closer, i'll probably succumb to something i haven't done much in the past: highlighting great finds on etsy. i haven't done too much of this here, mostly because i see so many people with really great taste doing it all over the place, and i have to do a bit of it for work anyway (and this blog is fun! not work!). but as etsy gets bigger, it's easier to miss really amazing stuff. so, without further ado, my first good stuff on etsy pick is log pillows from myimaginaryboyfriend. she has the cutest shopname ever, and these pillows would look fabulous on my couch. also, hopefully they wouldn't look tasty at all to certain puppies i live with that like to chew anything smooshy.
i've admired jdwolfepottery's shop for some time now, probably because she's a member of the etsy mud team and has not only gorgeous photos, but really, truly gorgeous work. this set in particular would look amazing in my little kitchen, right? i love the mix-y / match-y ness of it, and how it's super clean and modern, yet sort of retro, in a really subtle way. so good.
